If you’ve been sleeping under a rock, then you must have missed that Disney is remaking The Lion King and it is going to be amazing. The movie is actually full CGI, along the lines of The Jungle Book, which featured CGI animals and environments. Now one of the Disney’s biggest films ever will be reborn and we’ve got your first look at the entire cast.
“It is time!”
The Lion King tells the epic tale of Simba who will be voiced by Donald Glover. Simba’s sidekick and royal love bug Nala will be voiced by none other than the amazing Beyoncé. Newcomers JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph will take on the roles of young Simba and Nala. The only character to have the same voice as the animated film is Mufasa, voiced by the legendary James Earl Jones.
“Haahhh! Because there’s a… there’s a sound down in the throat somewhere. It’s though not reached.
It’s so great that Disney is bringing him back, which kinda also makes me sad. We could’ve had Robin Williams reprise his role as the Genie in the upcoming live action Aladdin who is now voiced by Will Smith, but moving on.
Zazu the majordomo of The Lion King will be voiced by John Oliver, who even looks the part! Simba’s mother Sarabi will be voiced by the amazing Alfre Woodar. The wise adviser baboon Rafiki is voiced by John Kani. And of course we can’t forget the hilarious worry free duo Timon & Pumbaa, with Seth Rogen voicing Pumbaa and Billy Eichner taking on Timon. They are going to have some hilarious chemistry. But not everyone in the Pride Lands is happy and worry free…
One of the most evil Disney villains, Scar is voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor. This time around we’re getting all new hyenas Meet Eric Andre who will play Azizi, Florence Kasumba who will play Shezi, and Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari.
Now you’re probably wondering if Disney is going to change up the whole story too, well worry no more, the official synopsis for the film follows very closely to its animated predecessor, with Scar coming up with an evil plan…
“What must we do? Kill Mufasa?”
“Precisely”.
Resulting in Simba’s exile where he learns to grow up and eventually takes back what is rightfully his.
The movie has some of the best songs ever in a Disney feature so you can definitely expect to sing along throughout the film and we’ll maybe even get some new songs.
Disney has had many years to improve their special effects from The Jungle Book, so expect to be blown away, and not like this.

On second thought I would actually love a movie like that!
The Lion King is hands down my favorite Disney animated film, with great characters, epic landscapes, unforgettable music, and a timeless story, I cannot wait to see what Disney does with it using state of the art filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way, “The Lion King” roars into theaters on July 19, 2019.”
